Reviews
Lovely decor and very comfortable
Kate B. - February 2019
This well appointed cabin suited our needs. It was clean, nicely decorated and well stocked with cleaning products. The bathrooms were also one of the best features as they were modern and clean. The only downside was that the top bunks didn’t have side rails because the mattresses were very thick so these too bunks wouldn’t be great for small children. Overall though a great place to stay.
Perfect family mountain getaway!
Deborah S. - January 2019
Rustic Cedar Rock was the perfect choice for our family ski trip. The decor was just what we wanted for a mountain cabin with plenty of space for our 3 families. The gated community was amazing on a gorgeous mountain. The scenery and homes were beautuful and we enjoyed the Rope Course and Teepee Village. The teens enjoyed their own space with the pool table and the adults all enjoyed their space. The location was only 15 minutes from skiing at Sugar Mountain. We enjoyed skiing and ice skating one of our days. We will definitely look at returning for our next winter trip.
Had a wonderful time, very spacious, lots of windows
Barbara G. - December 2018
the House is huge, very pretty. Plenty of room for 12 people. Kitchen has everything you would need for dinners and large breakfasts. The house has lots of windows, but you are not right on top of the mountain so you won’t see mountain tops unless you drive up, if you do the whole ride is breath taking, very beautiful.
Joanie Law was wonderful, very helpful and nice. The house was clean, not spot clean, but enough to feel comfortable.
The only thing that drove the kids crazy was the WiFi or lack there of, very slow and almost non existent.
We stayed from December 30, 2018-January 3, 2019. Enjoyed our stay even though we didn’t get snow, will book again in the future.
The home is beautiful and in a great location. Would just ask for a few extra things.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Love that each bedroom has its own bath. The only complaints I have are: we were not told that we coul only have 4 small bags of trash or we would be charged an additional fee. Also, the Home needs some additional utensils and glass bake wear.
Very beautiful place

They finally figured out the best layout for multiple couples staying in the same place. Each room was a master suite. House was gorgeous and decorated perfectly. The location was great for the Banner Elk area, the only way it would be better is if it were higher up the mountain. Working with Joanie for booking was a good experience too. The only thing they REALLY have to get on board with is the rental paperwork. They require the customer to print it all out, sign it, scan it back into softcopy form, and then email it back. This could all be solved by using electronic signatures like Docusign or something similar. Other than that, we plan to return in the future.
Hands down my favorite rental!!!!
Suzie P. - September 2017
Absolutely loved this rental!!!!! Each bedroom was spacious with amazing bathrooms. the ouse with pristine clean. the living area on the first floor was comfortable and then having the downstairs family room was perfect for those of us that wanted to stay up later than the others. Eagle's Nest is a large community...this house was extremely easy to find and was extremely near the entrance gate, making it very convenient to head into town. I can't wait to stay here again!!!!
Luxury Townhome at Eagles Nest
Eric - October 2016
Stunning townhome that offers great space for multiple families. Some could watch a movie by the fire in the main level family room, while others play pool and watch football in the basement rec room. We had wonderful time and enjoyed the peaceful views. Our rental agent, Joanie, was very prompt and very friendly. "Two thumbs up".

Beautiful Home w/ Great Amenities
Anonymous - February 2016
The home is absolutely beautiful and a great space to accommodate a large group. The speakers throughout the house was an awesome feature especially when some people were upstairs and others were downstairs playing pool. I saw some reviews w/ complaints about the walls being thin, but we did not have any issues with noise. The only complaints we have are that the kitchen has dull knives, no cutting board and was lacking some other cooking basics. Other than that, the house was awesome. Our group is definitely going back this spring and next winter.
Excellent Stay

Quite And Not To Far
Jessica - October 2015
The party I was included in was a group of my close friends (all of which live in Charlotte, NC) we had never been to Banner Elk (or The High Country) before. We stayed at The Rustic Cedar Rock Townhome in Eagles Nest. It was perfect for us, being so close to downtown Banner Elk we could go walk around downtown and when we got tired just jump in the car and be back "home" in minutes. Once at the property it's so quiet, relaxing and enjoyable that it's hard to believe we were that close to all the fun that comes with the small town of Banner Elk. I would recommend this property for pretty much any type of group or family (there are 4 stairs so wheelchairs might be a little difficult). The company was also very outgoing and very hospitable upon our arrival they had lights on (which means a lot if you are arriving at night), soft music playing throughout the home (surround sound speakers in all rooms) and a bottle of red wine (from a local winery)! I enjoyed the stay very much and most definitely plan on staying at this property or one of the others offered. Rustic Luxury
Penny W - July 2015
Worth every $ and an amazing stunner. After 10 years of renting cabins in this area of the mountains, this Property Ties the top 3. The designer interiors truly gave me personally exactly what I craved. The bed was tremendously luxurious & the views were amazing to wake up to. Scheduling was easy and attentive to details. It's private which I love due to my vacation style. I work hard in real estate in Florida and needed a respite like this! Thank you and I am sure to recommend and return! Well Decorated but Thin Walls
Robert K - March 2015
The Rustic townhouse is a well decorated and inviting townhouse that has ample space. It is cozy and charming. It did feel a bit dark since 1/2 the light bulbs were out but that should be a relatively easy fix. Typically I would recommend this property but the walls between the two town homes is inappropriately thin. You can hear the conversations next door. The guests staying at the adjoining townhome were up late entertaining themselves at an APPROPRIATE noise level but since the walls are so thin, the noise carries and created a disturbance. They did nothing wrong since they were enjoying themselves in an appropriate manner. Each party should feel comfortable and be insulated from each other. Unfortunately that is not the case regarding this townhouse. The Property manager evidently does know the property too well either because I explicitly asked for a peaceful place. They also botched the arrival. Overall it is a shame about the property. Important elements were overlooked.
